Panasonic HDC SD9 HD Camcorder
The Panasonic HDC SD9 is a very small hd camcorder. Weighing under 300g without battery and small enough to place in your bag (or large pocket). You’ll be wanting to take the HDC-SD9 with you whenever you go out.
The supplied Lithium battery will give you enough juice for 1 to 2 hours of recording time depending on usage. There are alternative batteries available up to about 6,000mAH giving you a massive 6 to 8 hours of recording time.
The HDC-SD9 captures full HD video via its 1/6” Tri-CDD sensor. The sensor captures images at 2.1 megapixels and records to the AVCHD format. The camcorder incorporates a Leica Dicomar lens offering superior optics and captures every detail.
The HDC SD9 records onto SD or SDHC media allowing easy transfer and sharing of your videos. The HDC-SD9 doesn’t have a view finder but instead relies on its clear, bright 2.7” LCD screen.
The Panasonic HDC SD9 has a 10x optical zoom and a 25x digital zoom making subjects seem closer to you than they are. An advanced Optical Image Stabilisation function is there to combat the annoying camera shake you sometimes get when recording close ups. Focus is handled automatically, but can be adjusted manually for those hard to film scenes such as through glass or a fence or in large crowds.
The HDC-SD9 features a Photo Mode with built in flash, this allows you to take still photos directly from your camcorder. This is great for those spontaneous photo moments when you may not have time to get your digital camera out and turn it on.
The HDC SD9 features a 5.1 surround microphone capable of recording sound in either 5.1 surround sound of standard 2-channel stereo audio. The microphone also has a zoom function where it will try and only pick sounds up from the subhect you are currently zoomed in on. Great for hearing what your subject is saying without being drowned out by background noise.
The auto white balance features automatically adjusts the white balance settings on the HDC SD9 to ensure your footage always looks its best.
The Panasonic HDC SD9 has a range of connectivity options including HDMI and USB2. HDMI is capable of transferring both digital high definition video and 5.1 channel audio concurrently. USB2.0 is ideal for connecting to your PC or MAC for quick and easy transfer of your footage and photos.

HDC-SD9 Receives 2008 TIPA Award for Best Camcorder in Europe
Panasonic recently announced that that the HDC-SD9 HD Camcorder received the prestigious TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) Award for the Best Camcorder in Europe 2008.
The TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) is an independent organisation including imaging and photo experts representing 12 countries across Europe. The TIPA awards for given to the HDC-SD9 for its quality, performance and value.

The HDC-SD9 is the worlds smallest and lightest full HD camcorder which can record at 1920x1080p. The Panasonic HDC SD9 can record up to 6 hours onto a 16GB SDHC memory card. The HDC SD9 is also resilient to knocks and impacts thanks to the card recording system which has no moving parts or drive mechanism.
